The Synopsis series of paintings was embarked upon in response to the desire to take my photography to another level. It was not enough work to travel to distant locations, shoot hundreds of rolls of film, process the film, hand print the images, mount, mat and frame the images. Now I must take a raw canvas and create an abstract painting based on my photography. For the initial pieces, I took inspiration from two fellow artists , Rodney Wallace and Robin Whatley, to do portraits.
